The leather and suede surfaces should be cleaned with special microfiber cloths, cotton, tapestry and jacquard, chenille can be sponged or soft brushed, dirt is removed from flock, velvet and velour with a brush. The important point is whether the fabric has a waterproof impregnation: if it does not, then dry cleaning should be used.
Now a lot of manufacturers offer fabrics, most often chenille, with Teflon impregnation: it is a kind of shield against dirt, dust and water. Small particles simply will not be able to penetrate through the dense coating, the same thing will happen with water droplets.
